Forums -> Multiple monitors -> ATI XPert@Play 98 always wants to be the primary monitor at bootup

Here's my setup
AGP: Visiontek Geforce 3 64MB
PCI: ATI Xpert@Play 98
Windows XP Pro
ABIT KR7A-RAID

When I set the AGP to initialize first the ATI card doesn't start in WinXP...when I set the PCI slot to initialize first everything works fine...though the Bios and the first part of the Windows bootup displays on the Second monitor...I'd like to get it displaying on the primary monitor...on the Geforce3...

I also run Windows 2000 Pro...and I have the same problem with that...(obviously this is a BIOS issue though)

It is not bios. It is operating system. You can't use the @Play card as a secondary display in either Win2000 or WinXP. I tried in both. You'll need to move up to a better secondary card or go back to Win98/ME

I have the same card as you, the ATI XPERT@Play will only work as a secondary monitor on 98/ME, not 2000. There is a message on ATI's website about this, it has something to do with the video BIOS.

Hope I could help,
