So I've been using the UltraMon 2.7x for a while and everything has worked fine. Then one day from the Windows XP login screen I clicked on the wrong user account. It began loading that users account when I chose to logoff before everything loaded. I received a few 'not responding, end now' errors on a variety of things that I did not recognize or take note of. I then logged into my normal account and now my dual monitors were displaying the same thing instead of my extended desktop as my UltraMon profile specifies. So I rebooted the machine. Didn't work. Rebooted again. Same thing. Downloaded the new beta version of UltraMon. Same thing. But now I can't even open UltraMon at all. When I try, nothing happens.
I'm using Windows XP (latest SP) Dell E5400 laptop is the primary screen LG Flatron L227WTG is secondary screen
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Graham

Sounds like clone mode got enabled for some reason, if you go to UltraMon menu > Display Settings and the secondary monitor is shown as disabled, enabling it should fix the problem.
If that doesn't work you'll need to change the multi-monitor mode via the software for your video card, there should be an option for extended desktop (also called Dualview or independent displays).

Well, actually it may be a little more than that. Here's the thing. Under my normal windowsxp user account (which is an administrative account) UltraMon simply won't launch. Not during startup or even when I go to Start - All Programs and launch from there. However, when I go to the other administrative account on my computer it does launch fine. So it seems to be something unique to my user account and perhaps a corrupt file or something?? Just guessing.

Well I'm not exactly sure what combination of actions I took resolved the problem, but I think I figured out that there is/was some problem with the services that startup on my machine. Anyway, it seems to be working now after restarting about a half dozen times. Thanks.
