Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Pointer jumps around when second monitor activated.

Whenever I double-click the ultramon icon on the system tray to activate my second monitor (which is actually a TV), the mouse pointer jumps regularly several times over a few seconds to the top of the primary monitor. Jump, 1 second passes, jump, 1 second passes...

Any idea why this is happening & how to fix it? I use Windows XP sp3, my primary's resolution is 1280x1024 & my secondary's is 1024x768.

Do you have the same problem if you enable the secondary monitor via UltraMon menu > Display Settings?

Nope.

It's not so much a problem as it is a nuisance, so if there's a way to fix it I'd be grateful.

Do you have any toolbars on the secondary monitor which got moved to the primary when you disabled the TV?

If yes, UltraMon will try to move them back when you enable the secondary again via UltraMon menu > Enable Secondary, which could result in the mouse getting moved.

If by toolbar you mean the taskbar, then I simply have the Ultramon taskbar clone option activated.

I DO have the Rocketdock toolbar, but it's set to be at the center of the primary screen only.

I've had the same problem. First with Vista, and now with Win7.

On Vista, activating the second display using the UltraMon menu > Enable Secondary would cause random actions on the desktop. Files moved from the desktop into a folder on the desktop, and other strange thing. Using UltraMon menu > Display Properties would always work fine.

Now, on Win7, both cause strange things. Using the UltraMon menu > Enable Secondary causes random things to appear in the taskbar and will occasionally crash some of my desktop gadgets.

I recently used the UltraMon menu > Display Properties and it took all me desktop icons aligned on left side of the primary display and moved them to the right side.

Poltergeist!

Seriously though, I forgot to mention that yeah, sometimes just after the pointer jumps it sometimes clicks itself too, which in my case would press a button on RocketDock. I don't recall it having dragged anything before though, just clicking.

Which version of UltraMon are you using? I have now tested with RocketDock and UltraMon 3.0.7, but so far haven't seen the issue.

Hmmm, 2.7.1.0. Think I need an update? XD

I would recommend giving 3.0.7 a try, you can always go back to 2.7.1 if it doesn't fix the problem.

Alright, I updated to Ultramon 3.0.3 & things are working perfectly fine now. I read the fixed issues in 3.0.7 & I'm not missing anything by upgrading only to 3.0.3, so I won't need to update anymore for now.

Thanks for your help!

I am running 3.0.7 and I still have the issues.
