I'm using windows 7 but this was the case in Vista too. When someone contact's me on MSN, his window pops up on 1st monitor, while I would like it to open on second monitor. Thing is, I have my second monitor set at my primary under settings.
So now, it thinks that my 1st monitor device is also a primary I guess?
I did try right clicking and set it under Ultramon - Window properties, sadly I don't have that tab under Messenger.
Any suggestion?

UltraMon can't help with this, there's no support for positioning child windows like the chat window. You could only position the contacts window, if you don't have the UltraMon - Window tab you could create a new shortcut manually via UltraMon menu > Shortcuts.
