I'm using Windows 7 and am finding it hard to work without extra toolbars/taskbars (Under 98-Vista I had an extra toolbar at the top of my primary monitor for quicklaunch, address and another folder of useful shortcuts). However Windows 7 doesn't support this.

It would be great in a future version of UltraMon if it could support creating more taskbars, docked at the top, bottom, left, right, etc. of any monitor and an option to not show any tasks.

If anyone does know of any software that already does this, then let me know!

Thanks for Ultramon!

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into this, you wouldn't be able to use all toolbars though, for example most Microsoft toolbars don't work with UltraMon.

Myself I'm only interested in Quick Launch, Address Toolbar and a few other folder toolbars.

My current setup has those 3 at the top of my screen and Windows 7 won't allow that.

Michael,

The link below shows you how to enable Quick Launch in Windows 7.

Or a GREAT gadget that works like Quick Launch is Launch Control

Those won't work with UltraMon, but you could get the same functionality with the True Launch Bar, which works fine with UltraMon taskbars.

Tom,

Not quite the same thing. That only adds the quick launch to the taskbar, I'm fine with the Windows 7 taskbar as is with Jump links and pinning items, and you can add folders and quick launch, which is fine.

What you can't do is have a separate toolbar on another side of the screen, the bulk of which on mine is taken up with the address bar:

Anyway, I think I'll wait for MS to patch it in, I did try some other third party software but it didn't work.
