We had a crash of ultramon on windows 7 startup. Received an error message box. When we restarted ultramon (without a reboot) the smart taskbar was missing.
Error Message:
Ultramon 3.0.7 OS 6.1.7600 x32 Source file ./Desk TaskBarManager.cpp Line 205 Return Value -2147287037 Last error: 3
Disabling the Smart TaskBar eliminated the crash, but removed some very important utility...
We only use Ultramon for the smart taskbar and the move windows to other monitor button, so this is important to us.
btw, I notice that the aero preview of the windows that appears when the mouse pointer hovers over a taskbar button on the primary monitor does not work the same way with the smart taskbar when it worked...

One additional pieces of information. I had my temporary file directories set to a RAM Disk. The Ram Disk was temporarily turned off so the system had no Temp directory.
When I redirected Temp files to a different directory, smart task bar worked fine.

The problem was the temp folder, the UltraMon taskbar needs to be able to access the temp folder during startup (location of the folder doesn't matter).
