Problem: Windows 7 won't shut down or restart cleanly when Live Messenger or Yahoo Messenger are running. I installed Windows 7 on my home built Quad Core with 4GB RAM. It will reboot fine if Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger are shut down but if they are open I get an "Application Error" dialog (see below) and have to confirm multiple times my desire to shut down. If I shut down one or the other application I still get an error from the one that is open.
I have reverted to a previous image of the hard drive and reinstalled the programs testing each one individually. I still have the problem.
msnmsgr.exe - Application Error The instruction at 0x6fb151ds referenced memory at 0x6fb151d3. the memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate the program.
YahooMessenger.exe - Application Error The instruction at 0x6fb151ds referenced memory at 0x6fb151d3. the memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate the program.
Solution: Many hours of trial and error finally determined the problem was caused by the Beta 64 bit version of Ultramon
Once I traced down the problem it was very easy to reproduce install Ultramon problem occurs uninstall Ultramon problem goes away

This issue has been fixed for 3.0.8, as a workaround go to UltraMon Options > Compatibility and enable alternative window buttons for the application, or disable the window buttons.

Glad to hear this is fixed. I think I had this problem too, but with Outlook 2007. I was afraid it my be my new system and a CPU/RAM problem but I'm glad that it apparently isn't.
