I'm running Ultramon 64-bit and since updating to 3.0.9 I've noticed that attempting to access the context menu from desktop icons (specifically the Recycle Bin) right after startup crashes explorer.exe. Once explorer.exe restarts, it will then crash sporadically throughout my windows session. After this happens, the Ultramon Task Bar seems "broken" in that windows maximize BEHIND it rather than above it (I have the task bar set to always on top).
Is this a known issue? I can't find any other mention of it. I am running VIPRE AV and AS and have an Ati Radeon graphics card with 512MB dedicated graphics memory.

So far I haven't been able to reproduce either issue, right-clicking the Recycle Bin desktop icon caused no problems, and always on top still worked for the UltraMon taskbar after killing/restarting explorer.exe.
Are you sure the icon issue is related to UltraMon? Please check if you still have the problem without UltraMon running or installed.

Sorry to give a fright - I got "proactive" after I read your response and am digging through the Event Viewer. I can't find anything to tie this to UltraMon, which appears to be a victim of whatever is causing explorer.exe to crash. I'm going to look into 3rd party apps that add context menu items and see if I can isolate the problem that way. If I do find a link to UltraMon, I'll let you know.
Cheers,
Mike

Just to note: this is in fact an issue with Firefox 3.5/3.6 and appears to be well known.
