If Remote Desktop has the "Show Backgrounds" off, i still get a background when using the UltraMon background. I do not when using the windows background.
In short of a easy fix, is it possible to export the image that is created? Windows mucks up the background when i put a 3-monitor sized image onto it. (my monitors are 3, 1, 2) it places the upper left corner of the image in 1, then wraps ascending (sucky thing).

I'm using Ultramon heavily combined with RDP and I've never faced this issue. My "show background" if always off and it works perfectly.
I don't even see how Ultramon could bring up the backgrond in a RDP session... that just doesn't make sense!
Try to update your RDP client to the latest version.

Have on both accounts. It is fine if i logon to a new session, but if i logon to an existing session, that is when it gets messed up.

Which version of UltraMon and Windows are you using? This used to be an issue, related to UltraMon refreshing the wallpaper in response to display configuration changes, but was fixed back in version 2.1.
I also can't reproduce this with 3.0.9 on 64-bit Windows 7, if I disable the background for the remote session I get a black background instead of the UltraMon wallpaper.

Hi,
I get the same behavior from Ultramon 3.0.10 on Windows 7 Pro 64 bits. (RDP client is Windows 7 Pro 64 bits too).
Desktop background is unchecked in RDP - Options - Experience, but the background is still visible.
Do you want me to test something else ?

I should add that I'm connecting to an open session.

So far I haven't been able to reproduce this. What are your settings under Experience, and are you using the Aero theme or Windows Basic/Classic on the remote system?

On the experience tab :
Low-speed broadband visual styles : checked Persistent bitmap caching : checked everything else : unchecked
The remote computer use the Aero theme.

Works fine for me with those settings, not sure what might cause this on your system.
A couple of things you could test:
- go to UltraMon menu > Wallpaper > Options and uncheck 'adjust wallpaper when display configuration changes'
- select a wallpaper via Control Panel > Personalization instead of UltraMon, and check if you still have the problem

Done that, and the wallpaper isn't there anymore in a RDP session.
Want me to test something else ?

Did unchecking 'adjust wallpaper when display configuration changes' fix the problem, or selecting a wallpaper via Control Panel > Personalization?
