I can't get Ultramon to load on boot anymore. Not sure if it the latest release or something changed on my computer, but it now is 'blocked' by windows on boot.
When I unblock it, it still doesn't load, but rather a small box that list several command line options opens.
To get the program to load, i need to manually click the icon i've got for it on my quick launch bar.
I have tried putting the program in the Startup folder. I've added to a program called Startup Delayer. Neither option works.
Any suggestions?
I'm using 3.0.9 RC on Vista 64-bit. 2 monitors.
Thank you!

Add'l point that might be relevant.
I am also having trouble getting the correct monitor to be the 'default'. I have 2 external monitors off an HP laptop.
I keep having to switch them at startup. This is likewise a very recent problem - within the last couple of weeks. I can't remember if the two problems started at the exact same time, but certainly close.
Among other things, I have tried disabling TMM, but doesn't fix problem.

Repairing your UltraMon installation should fix the problem, you can do this via Control Panel > Programs and Features, select UltraMon then click on Repair.
If it still doesn't work, try creating a shortcut to C:\Program Files\UltraMon\UltraMon.exe manually, then place that in the Start Menu > Programs > Startup folder.
I'm not sure what would cause the issue with the primary monitor, as a workaround you could set up an UltraMon display profile (UltraMon menu > Display Profiles), then configure the profile to get applied at login.

thank you very much! i appreciate your suggestions and the work involved in keeping this great program available.
so i followed all your ideas and it sort of works.
what works is that the monitors now load correctly as primary/secondary. not sure if this is as a result of the profile you had me set up - or the TMM thing working now. i think the profile cause it happens on a slightly delayed basis, but then...
what doesn't work is that UltraMon still doesn't load. it continues to be blocked on startup even though i did the steps you suggested. some progress though in that when i 'release' the program from blocked mode, it does actually load the program (vs. the commands list window as before).
vista is a nightmare about program permissions, so i looked carefully at that. i enabled 'full control' permission for every type of user for the ultramon.exe file (should i similarly look at other ultramon files?). and i made sure the 'run as admin' was checked in the shortcut icon.
i also thought it might be a Norton Labs thing i use to override Windows UAC. it is supposed to learn when something is legit and let it thru, but it seemed to have trouble with the new Ultramon. so i re-started it about 50 times in various ways, including running as admin. now it always loads cleanly from shortcut or the .exe.
but still no joy and loading auto on startup.
any other ideas?
thanks for your help.

You shouldn't need to run UltraMon as administrator, I also wouldn't recommend this in general. Do you have the same problem if you don't run UltraMon as administrator?

nope, that didn't help. same result.
i tried a few other things, including repair again, then went back to basics.
- uninstalled Ultramon completely - reinstalled clean from .exe - disabled Startup Delayer program completely - did not enable 'run as admin'
rebooted and viola, it worked perfectly. not sure if something was corrupted in the upgrade or there was a conflict with Startup Delayer or whatever, but now it works - including the monitors - so good to go.
thanks for your help!
