Since installing a second monitor (extended desktop) for a coworker, they've been getting an odd problem. If certain programs are open on the primary monitor, everything works fine. If the same program is open on the secondary monitor, sometimes the program will appear to freeze. Clicking the program window will give a Windows error sound which I believe suggests that there is a dialog box waiting for a response, but is stuck behind the main window instead of showing in front of it as it should.
They've been experiencing this with MS Outlook and an EMR program they use.
Has anyone seen anything like this before, and is there a way to avoid it?
Thanks!

Do you have a multi-monitor utility like the Nvidia nView Desktop Manager or UltraMon installed?

No, nothing like that right now. The display adapter is an ATI Radeon Xpress 1100, and management is through Catalyst Control Center.

Might have been related to a feature added by such a utility, I'm not sure what else might cause this, also haven't seen this myself so far with Outlook.
