Running UltraMon in Vista compatibility mode could cause this error, to disable compatibility mode right-click UltraMon.exe (in folder C:\Program Files\UltraMon), select Properties from the menu, then select the Compatibility tab and uncheck 'Run this program in compatibility mode'.
