UltraMon 3.0 Final (3.0.10) is now available for download. Thanks to everyone who has helped testing the beta releases!

3.0 Final supports Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000, Windows 98/Me are no longer supported. Both 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows are supported. You can install the software over your existing UltraMon installation, but please note that you may lose some of your UltraMon settings if you're currently using version 2.6 or earlier, for details see the release notes.

For an overview of what's new compared to version 2 of UltraMon, see the release notes. Go to UltraMon Features for a tour of UltraMon 3 features.

3.0 Final requires a version 3 license, version 2 registration codes won't work:

- if you already have a version 3 license: your existing registration information will work fine with 3.0 Final

- version 2 license purchased after Mar 30, 2007: your license has been upgraded to version 3 for free, go to your account to get your updated registration code. The new registration code is backwards-compatible and will also work with earlier releases of UltraMon

- version 2 license purchased before Mar 30, 2007: an upgrade to version 3 is available at a 50% discount, click here to purchase the upgrade. You'll need to use your account e-mail address when ordering, otherwise our ordering system won't find your existing licenses and won't let you purchase the upgrade

If you're not sure if you already have a version 3 license or if your license was upgraded for free, go to your account to review your orders.

I do not have any settings to retain.

Would I be better to totally remove my older Beta and clean up files then install this new final build to try resolve my long term issue (I'm sure you remember) ?
jhuk   2010-02-16 01:30
I bought this in Nov 2007 specifically for Vista so have never used the 2.XX Builds, it was always the 3.XX Beta builds.

Now my license it claiming its invalid.

I did read the info about new release but there is no way I am paying again as I have never had proper stable use of it in the 1st place before you little Script .vbs file stopped my desktop/sidebar getting messed up.

I could simply boot to Windows 7 and use the built in Windows Key+P (AFAIR)to do exactly what I need.

So what are you going to do to help this situation ?

All licenses purchased after Mar 30, 2007 were upgraded to version 3 for free, see above for details.

Just (paid to) upgrade to 3.0 and was expecting icon stacking. Is this still not supported?

(I'm on win7 64bit)
Christian Studer   2010-02-16 10:14
That's not supported, I'll look into support for additional Windows 7 taskbar features for a later release.

howdy Christian Studer,

i'm trying to upgrade form v2 to v3. my purchase was in 2002, so i know i've got to do the upgrade purchase. not a prob.

well, actually, it IS a prob. [*grin*] the "buy" link ends up giving me a price of $36.95 instead of the expected $19.98 [half of $39.95].

what am i doing Wrong?

take care,

Hi Lee,

you'll need to select the 'UltraMon upgrade to version 3' option, otherwise you'll get an additional license instead of the upgrade.

Hi
I purchased Ultramon back in October 2006. I have been using the 3.0 betas for quite a long time now. Where do I stand regarding 3.0 now being final? Do I have to downgrade back to 2.7? Upgrade my license so I can install 3.0? Or just continue to use the 3.0 beta?

I've been using Ultramon since 2004, first the 2.x releases and then the various 3.x betas along the way.

I was thrilled to see the release of 3.0.10 final have purchased my upgrade license.

Keep up the great work, I love this tool!

Death's Head, that's up to you, previous versions of UltraMon will continue to work fine, there are no built-in expiration dates.
