Been using Ultramon since Sep 19, 2002. I am now running Ultramon 3.0.10 on a 64-bit Windows 7 PC.
I can create new Ultramon profiles but when I select a profile from the list...nothing happens.
When I initially installed Ultramon on Windows 7, I could create new profiles and select them in the list to initiate the profile...and it worked.

When you create a new profile, do the display settings get changed as expected when you click on Test Settings?

Yes. When I am creating a new profile and select Test Settings, it works.

The profile itself seems to be okay, what happens if you select Display Profiles > Manage Display Profiles from the UltraMon menu, then double-click one of the profiles to apply it?

Sounds like the file association for the display profiles (.umprofile file) is no longer correct, repairing your UltraMon installation should fix the problem. To do this, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select UltraMon from the list, then click on Repair.

Christian,
The repair did not affect that problem at all.

Do you have any security application installed which might interfere with file associations?

Turned off any virus/security protection. Doesn't help.

Please try if reinstalling UltraMon fixes the problem, I'm not sure though if this will help if the repair didn't work.

It doesn't help.
I had the same problem with Ultramon on Vista 32-bit.
No one else is reporting this problem huh?

Do you have any security software or registry/system utility installed which you also had installed on Vista?
You could also send me your file association settings for further troubleshooting, to do this run regedit.exe, then right-click the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\umprofilefile and select Export from the menu to save the key to a .reg file. Send me the file to support@realtimesoft.com.

Christian. In Windows 7 64-bit, I am not allowed to export, or even view, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\umprofilefile. Could this be part of the problem?

Probably yes, you should at least have read access to the key. I'm using a regular (non-admin) user account on Windows 7 and can read/export HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\umprofilefile.
Can you login as administrator, and try to change the permissions for the key? Right-click the key and select Permissions from the menu to do this.

If repairing your UltraMon installation doesn't fix the problem, download and run ProfilesAndShortcuts.reg to create the necessary registry entries manually.
Please note that the .reg file assumes that UltraMon is installed in C:\Program Files\UltraMon, if that's not the case on your system you'll need to change the paths in the .reg file.
