Hi,
I am using 3.0.10 and have noticed since upgrading that when Firefox opens it is maximised on my main monitor with the Firefox status bar visible. When I switch it to the second monitor the status bar is underneath the taskbar.
I have tried setting a specific position on the shortcut using the 'grab position & dimensions' (Normal,L=1680,T=-1,W=1677,H=1020) but it seems that these settings aren't remembered as Firefox still starts with the status bar under the taskbar.
Windows XP SP3 both monitors 1680x1020

Make sure the UltraMon taskbar is set to be always on top (right-click the taskbar to change the setting).
So far I haven't been able to reproduce this issue, I tested with UltraMon 3.0.10 and Firefox 3.6 on 32-bit XP SP3.

Christian,
I had the 'Always on Top' option set to 'Same as Main Taskbar'. Setting it to 'Yes' and maximizing Firefox still has the FIrefox status bar underneath the taskbar.
It's not a major issue I just resize Firefox.
Note that the same happens with all other apps that are displayed on the second monitor (Word, etc)
If I could add attachments to the post I would send you an image to show you.

Does restarting UltraMon fix the problem?

No. Restarting Ultramon does not resolve the problem

Sounds like the UltraMon taskbar fails to reserve screen space for itself, please post the system information from UltraMon menu > About for further troubleshooting.

Please post the information for monitor 2 as well, most likely the main taskbar is on monitor 1 and not the UltraMon taskbar.

Looks good, UltraMon did reserve screen space for the taskbar at the bottom of monitor 2 (you can see this in the workspace coordinates).
Unfortunately I don't know what else might cause this, looks like everything should work fine. Do you have any video card utility/desktop enhancement tool installed which might interfere with this?

I have found the problem. I am running Google desktop and it starts before Ultramon. If I restart Google Desktop after Ultramon has run then the taskbar is not overwritten.

Glad to hear you found the problem. So far I haven't seen this myself though with the Google Sidebar installed, not sure what exactly might cause the problem for you.

I am having this same issue on Win 7 Pro x64 in a 3-monitor setup. It doesn't occur until after I lock (and then obviously unlock) the workstation and only on monitors 2 & 3. Until I lock it the first time, everything works as it should. If I restart Ultramon, it works properly until the first lock. It is especially frustrating in Excel (can't select different sheets) and Outlook (can't see status bar). Also, Chrome displays OVER the task bar which is also quite frustrating. Any ideas? Here is my info:

Brett, not sure what would cause this, I can't reproduce this issue on 64-bit Windows 7, still works fine after unlocking the system.
For some reason there's no longer any screen space reserved for the UltraMon taskbars after unlocking the system, you can see this in the workspace coordinates (they're the same as the screen coordinates). I'm not sure though what might cause this. Do you have any special applications installed, or does the display configuration get changed when you unlock the system?
The Chrome issue is a bug in Chrome, it doesn't handle toolbars on secondary monitors correctly.

Well, I have uninstalled everything I can think of and nothing resolves my issue. It appears to be a conflict with Windows Explorer itself, as every time UltraMon starts, Explorer crashes and has to be restarted. Then it works great until I lock - > unlock the workstation. After that the windows are under the UltraMon task bar.
I have uninstalled UltraMon and re-downloaded it and installed again and I have the same issue. I can watch Task Manager when I unlock my workstation and explorer.exe sits at 13% for about five seconds, then I see all my windows on monitors 2 & 3 resize and then they are underneath the task bar and the explorer process is back at 0%. I have not had any other issues with my Win 7 install. Any ideas??

I'm aware of an issue with the taskbar utility ViOrb, both the UltraMon and main taskbar may hang during startup. Do you have something like this installed, or maybe a special toolbar for the main taskbar?
I'm going to look into the issue with ViOrb for a later release.

I can confirm that closing Google Desktop solves this issue. I have the google desktop sidebar running and if it starts first, the taskbar on the second monitor appears over the top of all windows that are maximised. It's a shame that these two great apps conflict with each other. Any suggestions on a permanent solution (assuming it's not reasonable to hack some sort of sleep before ultramon runs at startup)?

Sometimes i have the same problem with Win 7 64 bit. (4 Monitors) But i cannot reproduce it.

Christian Studer 2010-04-07 08:58
I had tested with Google Desktop in the past, but wasn't able to reproduce the issue. Delaying UltraMon startup is possible, to do this run regedit.exe, go to the key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtime Soft\UltraMon\<version>', double-click on the AutoStartDelay value, select Decimal, then enter the number of seconds by which automatic startup should be delayed.

I'm having the same issue as brett but with only 2 monitors. My space isn't being reserved as well. This is a new problem that has happened since I installed Win7 over the weekend.
Here is the ultramon info for reference.
