Building a new rig (no gaming) to drive up 8 monitors of various resolution. I currently have (1) Nvidia NVS 450. OS will be 2008 server. It will be running Whatsup software and displaying mostly static web pages. Does anyone have an actual build that is known to work?

As long as the app works fine with regular Windows Extended Desktop mode, then any board that has 4 PCIe X16 slots, so that you can install 4 ordinary dual-output video cards, should work fine. Since you are only running a 2D app, you'll want 4 modern low power ($25-75ea) video cards, that way you don't need to worry about special power or cooling requirements. The motherboard you get depends on what processor you want to run.

You could also run 3 low-end (<$100ea) ATI Eyefinity triple monitor cards.
