I'm coming from Windows XP with a custom LiteStep shell that I've been using since about 2002 (with minor modifications and changes, I've had the same interface more or less for 8 years) - and now I've finally made the switch to Windows 7. Unfortunately LiteStep is rather dead these days and much of it doesn't work with Windows 7 - such a shame!
However I've stumbled upon UltraMon which at the very least gave me my per-monitor taskbars back. One feature request I'd like though, is the ability to close windows by clicking the middle mouse button on the taskbar icon. Similar I guess to what you can do with Chrome/Firefox/IE and tabs (middle mouse button = close tab).
Any chance of this feature being implemented? Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion, will be considered for a future release.

Taskix or Taskbar shuffle will do this and support the Ultramon Smart Taskbar.

Unfortunately Taskix doesn't work with Windows 7. I would like to rerequest this feature with the middle button.

I am also looking for the same option, Did they already add it to ultramon or did they drop the option?
The 2 programs suggest in this topic didn't work either non of them had support for W7

That hasn't been implemented yet. Taskbar Shuffle did work for me on Windows 7, but only with the UltraMon taskbars.

Huh?
I thought Win7 provided its own taskbar button re-shuffling straight out of the box.
TaskbarShuffle on my Win7-64bit box didn't work reliably enough for me. TBS caused Ultramon to crash many times, and I got at least 2 BSODs which I suspect were related to TBS.
With TBS running, Ultramon would (many times) stop running as soon as clicked on a button on a Ultramon taskbar. I removed it, and now Win7 seems back to its stable self.
But when you say TBS "only works with Ultramon taskbars", doesn't the underlying Win7 taskbar code already handle repositioning buttons on the main Win7 taskbar?
Maybe I'm confused (I'm at work, which is still XP here, so I'd have to check Win7 at home).
What are your Win7 taskbar settings? Do you have grouping enabled, etc? Large or small icons?

Reordering yes, but not task close via middle click.
An issue related to Taskbar Shuffle has been fixed for the next release, 3.2.0, if you want to use Taskbar Shuffle I would recommend giving it another try once 3.2.0 has been released.
