Has anyone else noticed that the after applications on the second monitor are closed they still show up on the taskbar? I have the TrueLaunchBar taskbar also on the second taskbar and if I move or resize that this helps to correctly update the taskbar.

Which version of UltraMon and Windows are you using?

Hi, I am experiencing similar problem. Sometimes the taskbar on the second monitor freezes and switching between windows on it has very long response and applications stay on the taskbar even if they are already closed. Closing UltraMon does not help as the process UltraMonTaskbar.exe keep on running. I am using latest version 3.0.10 and Windows 7 Professional 64bit.

SirWimpyIX, please try if increasing the process priority for the Smart Taskbar fixes the problem, you can do this under UltraMon Options > Smart Taskbar.

Hi Christian, thanks for your advise. I tried to increase the priority and it seems to be OK so far. Just to ammend that killing the process UltraMonTaskbar.exe manually does not help either and after starting the application again the taskbar kept on freezing.

Changing the priority makes NO difference on mine when it comes to updating the second taskbar (i.e., applications that are closed still show up). However, the second I resize the TrueLaunchBar toolbar or any other toolbar that happens to be on the taskbar, then the overall taskbar will properly update. I have WinXP Pro and the graphics card is Nvidia Quadro4 550 XGL if that makes any difference.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! It seems the behavior occurred when choosing the "transparency" option for TrueLaunchBar. If I unchecked that option for TLB then the taskbar updates correctly.

Doug, what transparency settings were you using? I tested with only toolbar transparency enabled (49%), but so far haven't noticed any problems.

It was TLB's "Toolbar Transparency" option that apparently was causing the problem. I have TLB on both the first monitor's taskbar as well as the second. If I disable the transparency setting on the second only, this seems to work fine. If I try to re-enable it on the second, that is when the odd behavior occurs. Having transparency on the first monitor does not cause a problem.

I've done some further testing, but so far haven't seen the issue.

If you'd like to troubleshoot this further, let me know if there's anything else I need to do to reproduce the issue. I tested by enabling toolbar transparency, then moving an application to a different monitor and back to see if the taskbar button got removed or not.

I have to say that changing the priority helped me and now after a week I don't see any problem whatsoever. Thanks again Christian for your quick support!
