I have a nice wallpaper across 3 monitors which behaves well.
When I right click my desktop and deselect Show Desktop Icons, the icons disappear OK but my wallpaper moves one monitor place to the left wrapping around, causing the leftmost third to appear on the rightmost monitor. When I reselect Show Desktop Icons it moves back to the correct place.
Have tried all the settings I could find that could remotely impact the wallpaper placement, and nothing changes this behaviour.
System is XPSP3 i7 950 2.67GHz 3GB - 3x Dell 24" E248WFP monitors - Nvidia GeForce 9600GT (1+2) + Nvidia GeForce 8400GS (3) - UltraMon 3.0.10.

This is due to the Active Desktop getting enabled when you hide the icons, to fix the wallpaper go to UltraMon menu > Wallpaper, then select OK when asked if you want to adjust the wallpaper for the current display configuration.

Hello Christian,
Sorry - tried that one before without success.
See with and without.
Another suggestion?

Hello again Christian,
I found the "menu" you referred to. After hiding the desktop icons and going to the Wallpaper dialgogue it asks me the question, and if I say yes it sorts the wallpaper, but if I re-enable the icons I have to do it again.
Having to go into the wallpaper config each time I change icon visibility is somewhat of a nuisance, and a bit impractical.
Is it not possible to have some config which does this automatically?

Automatically refreshing the wallpaper should be possible, I'll look into this for the next release.
If you're using the Quick Launch toolbar, you could do the following to quickly refresh the wallpaper:
1) create a new shortcut, for example on the desktop
2) set location of the item to the following:
"%ProgramFiles%\UltraMon\UltraMonDesktop.exe" /refresh
3) move the created shortcut to the Quick Launch toolbar
4) run the shortcut after hiding/showing icons

Hello Christian,
Is it possible to hide/show icons through the scripting? If so the next step would probably be obvious.

I'm not aware of a way to do this from a script or application.

Hello Christian,
I found a small app called hidedesktopicons.exe available here that does the job very nicely. If you can work out how it does it then viola!
Interestingly, hiding/restoring with this app does not cause the wallpaper to move like the desktop right click dialogue method does.
I have incorporated it into an UltraMon hotkey and it works very nicely.

Most likely the app just removes the icons, then adds them again, without switching to the Active Desktop. That's just a guess though.
