Hi,
I've been using UltraMon for quite a while now and like it's integration with Windows 7 - but it could be a bit more "fluid" - there are still some glitches.
The latest version of UltraMon was released in February - is there another version planned anytime soon?
Thanks!
Joe

3.1.0 will be the next release, but I don't have a release date yet, it's still under development.

Is there a beta version of 3.1.0 available? And/or is there a place where we can go to get updates on the progress / list of planned features for 3.1.0?

3.1.0 will be a beta release. The main focus is on display configuration (display orientation, output switching and legacy drivers on Windows 7), new scripting features and bug fixes.

Will it support Windows7 taskbar features?

There will be no new taskbar features in 3.1.0

Any chance of putting a "To Do" list on the site somewhere? I'd love to know what features are planned for upcoming versions.
Adding to this; You could maybe add a "feature request" section and allow your users to vote on which features matter the most to them. That way, you don't need to collate requests and reports from the forum and email, you (and everyone else) gets to see what the big requests/issues are. You can then select these features and add them to a "To Do" list with an associated version number or something.
Just something that allows us to track what is being planned and for what build would be great.
You say that X, Y, and Z will be in build 3.1.0, so please consider documenting that. You say that no new taskbar features will be in that build, so why not list them under a 3.1.2 build "To Do" list? That way, we won't keep hassling you about the same stuff all the time.

Thanks for the suggestion, but currently I have no plans to add something like this. I usually start with a couple ideas for the next release, then take it from there, for example adding related features, so there's no detailed road map.

I've purchased ultramon and like many others in these forums, I would love to see full integration of the taskbar features in Windows 7, most specifically the Aero preview feature, where you get a live thumbnail of your program when you hover over it with your mouse. This would be extremely useful to someone like me who has multiple windows open on both monitors at one time.
It would appear that your competitors have come up with at least a workaround to enable this Win7 feature in their software. It would also appear that this fact is causing you to lose some loyal customers to that competition.
My feeling is that the sooner you actually improve the taskbar in Ultramon, the better for us and for you.
Also, I would love to see an increase in the update stream for this software. Back to your competitors again, they have released 3 updates to your 0 updates since the release date of 3.0.10.
Food for thought.

I have been requesting this for a while as have many others but can you please impliment a new option in the menu to remove the Ultramon taskbar icon from view.
This is a trvial thing to impliment and I would much rather have the icon not take up my taskbar space so a option to make it visible/invisible in the taskbar would be really appreciated!
Thanks

Is it also possible to fix the positioning issues with the icons in Photoshop? This has been broke for some time and would be really nice to get it fixed.
The icons also interfere with the skype window icons as well as they overlay ontop of the close icon of the window.

Ben, this is due to the custom window title bar used by the application. For Skype there's an easy fix, go to Skype Options and set Visual Style to Classic Windows.
Support for hiding the UltraMon system tray icon will be considered for a future release, but you can also do this via Windows (Control Panel > Taskbar and Start Menu > Notification area > Customize).

I have heard that it will be considered before but you should know that your workaround for hiding the icon isnt actually a viable workaround,
If you use this workaround you simple create an icon that will hide a set of icons, you can just make the icon dissapear all together which is what I and others would like.
I have used ultramon for some time and i love the functionality, but this silly little feature is something that would make it near perfect for me.
