Hi

I'm using Windows 7 64bit and Ultramon 3.0.10 64 bit.

I'm having an issue with restoring desktop icons. My primary monitor is a 22" and my secondary is a 19". I have icons saved across both monitors using "preserve position of desktop icons" box in Ultramon and alternatively running the "SaveDesktopItems" script.

Occasionally when repairing somebody elses PC I will disable the 19" in my ATI video control panel and use it on the computer I'm repairing. Obviously if I start up my PC all the icons show on my primary 22" display.

The problem is when I re-enable the secondary display on my PC and attempt to do a restore again via Ultramon or the script - nothing happens. I have to place the icons manually.

When Ultraon does a Save does it take into consideration whether the icons are form the primary or secondary display?

Thanks - Great Product.

UltraMon only saves a single set of icon positions, most likely that's what causes the problem, if you shut down the system with only a single monitor enabled, UltraMon will save the single-monitor icon positions.

To prevent this, go to UltraMon Options > General and uncheck 'preserve position of desktop icons'. This way UltraMon will no longer automatically save/restore icon positions, but you can still do this manually via UltraMon menu > Desktop Icons or with a script.

Glad to hear you like UltraMon!
