I'm scrolling large font text on the screen and need it to be smooth. Is there a way to get more "real-time" mirroring? I have the settings on the highest rate per second.

Maybe mirroring isn't able to run at 30 updates per second, to verify this check if you have the same performance if you select 20 or 25 updates per second instead of 30.
