I downloaded the trial of ultramon and played around with it, however I have ultimately decided to uninstall it. My issue now however is that I am unable to change my wallpaper in native Windows 7 (64 bit).
My wallpaper on both monitors is showing as a plain black screen, and no amount of changing themes, setting images as wallpaper etc will work. I can still change the wallpaper to a single colour, but not to an image.
If I re-install ultramon, I can once more change the wallpaper from within ultramon just fine, but that still doesn't let me change it outside of ultramon or after uninstalling. I don't overly need a wallpaper stretched across both monitors, nor do I need a different wallpaper on each monitor. I am trying to use a dynamic windows theme that changes the wallpaper via RSS, and ultramon appears to have broken my ability to do this.
Any suggestions on how I can resolve it? Is there a registry change made by ultramon that I can edit etc?

Unfortunately I don't know what might cause this, but it's very unlikely that this would be related to UltraMon, UltraMon only changes the active wallpaper, it doesn't change other wallpaper-related settings.
I also can't reproduce this issue, I tested on 64-bit Windows 7 with UltraMon 3.0.10, changing the wallpaper via Control Panel > Personalization worked fine after uninstalling UltraMon.

Wouldn't it have to change settings? Windows 7 doesn't support one image stretched over two monitors or a different wallpaper on each monitor, yet Ultramon can do this? Doesn't that mean it's doing something more than simply changing the wallpaper?

No, UltraMon creates a desktop-sized bitmap using the images you specified for the wallpaper profile, then sets that as the active wallpaper.

Cheers. Well, I've done some more exploring, and found the solution to the issue (still don't know the cause, but I think I can safely rule out Ultramon).
Thanks for your time!
