I have made a program (with help from Christian Studer) that adds itself to the right hand side of the UltraTaskbar (so far only works when horizontally oriented) and simply displays the time.
Bugs:
-It works with Aero enabled, but switching between on/off won't refresh the background (yet)
-While Aero is on, the text is drawn in the wrong spot, though still visible.
