I'm using Windows 7 Pro 64bit and UltraMon 3.0.10 on my laptop. When I switched from one external monitor to another, I just noticed that a lot of my applications were not showing up on either taskbar. I was able to find them by Alt-Tabbing to them, which also made them reappear on my taskbar. I closed ultramon and then restarted it and the problem seems to have gone away for now.

I'm not sure what might have caused this, if you get this again please send me the system information from UltraMon menu > About.

P.S. I've noticed it twice happening only with Microsoft Outlook 2007. The other time it happened with a lot more programs (definitely some MS Word and Excel windows--I forget which if any others).

That looks okay, if you get this again please run SysInfoX64.exe and post the displayed system information (you can copy this by pressing CTRL+C).

That looks fine as well, is this from when you were having the taskbar issue?

I'm remiss. The last two I sent were not from when I was having the problem. I read too fast. I'll try to catch it in the act next time.

That still looks okay, it's not the issue I thought it might be. Version 3.1.0 will be released on Dec 21, if you still get this with the new release let me know and we can do further troubleshooting.

Hi, I recently experienced something very similar on XP.
I managed solve it and:
it seemed to be a result of the fact that after installing 3.10 I got two Ultramon Shortcuts in my "Autostart".
So it could be a simple installer issue, my old shortcut ("Genväg till Ultramon") was not recognized by the installer so 3.10 gave me a second one. Resulting in two Ultramon instances getting started and giving me a lot of weirdness.
I would suggest: 1. your installer to examine the the autostart shortcut-targets before adding new ones 2. Mutex-protect your executable from allowing multiple process instances.
Cheers, and thanx for a great product. Adam

Adam, that was probably a timing issue. Using a mutex would fix the issue, but this was changed in order to support the Desktops virtual desktop manager from Sysinternals (mutex is per session instead of per desktop, which prevented UltraMon from getting started in secondary desktops).

Hi Christian,
I upgraded to the new version of UltraMon and am still getting the problem.
Below is the copied display settings DURING one of the occurances.
Thanks, Dan
P.S. I appreciate your prompt replies and help here on the forum. Knit-picking, it would be helpful if your forum had some sort of RSS feed or subscription of threads feature (going to see if google reader will do it automatically for me right after this email).

Dan, I'll get started on a test version of the taskbar, will contact you by e-mail once it's ready. You'll need to be able to install a debug monitor like DebugView, let me know if that's not possible.
