I have used ultramon for a few years now.
When I built my new rig with two video cards run in slt and used windows 7 operating system,
I purchased ultramon again and the results have been less than satisfactory - glitchy might be a better term.
Is this new release compatible with windows 7 64 bit ?(by the way I am running 12 gigs memory currently)
I am thinking you should have had a disclaimer on previous releases when 7 came out that it may not work
Now I have to purchase ultramon again for the same computer ?

3.0.6 and later should work fine on Windows 7, what kind of issues did you experience?

I use Opera browser and Google chrome browser and have them open, 1 on each, on two lcd 21in. monitors - ultramon only displays it self on one display and sometimes works and sometime does not.
it will display on Opera - though sometimes does not work - like when I want to move it to the other monitor and sometime displays opera across both monitors and I cannot reduce it to one without shutting pc down. it does this with out ryme or reason since I did not press expand.
It will not show itself when using only Google chrome - I am not sure if I have opera as default browser.
Do I still have to pay for ultramon updated if I purchased a license this year ??

I'm aware of an issue with Opera where the window buttons are hidden after moving the window to a different monitor. I'll look into this for a later release, as a workaround you could try if enabling alternative window buttons for Opera via UltraMon Options > Compatibility fixes the problem.

The issue with Chrome is due to the custom window title bar used by Chrome, unfortunately UltraMon usually can't add window buttons to applications with custom title bars. What should still work fine are the Move Window/Maximize to Desktop hotkeys, you can configure hotkeys under UltraMon Options > Hotkeys.

If you purchased this year you should have a version 3 license, which is valid for all 3.x releases.

After Windows 7 recently installed a arge update, I can no longer move maximized windows from one monitor to the other by dragging them with the mouse. (The relevant option is checked in "General")

Waht should I do to correct this?
Christian Studer   2011-02-15 22:38
I'm not sure what would cause this, what's odd is that you should always be able to do this on Windows 7, even without UltraMon installed, Windows 7 has built-in support for this.

Which visual style are you using, for example Aero, Basic, etc?

Hi: I am using a theme that has nothing but a red screen. Ironically, I had been able to move maximized windows before the update. Then it stopped; then for about a week, I could do it again, and now it stopped again.

What happens if you close UltraMon, then try to drag a maximized window to the other monitor by dragging the window's title bar with the mouse?

When I close UltraMon I still cannot drag a full screen to another monitor.

A couple of things you can try:

- make sure the option 'enable moving of maximized windows using the mouse' under UltraMon Options > General is checked. This way you should be able to move maximized windows with the mouse even if the feature is disabled in Windows

- run regedit.exe, then go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop and set the DragFromMaximize value to 1. This will enable Windows 7's built-in support for moving maximized windows with the mouse

Hi: The Registry was already set to "1" and the proper items already had been checked. I still cannot drag a maximized window. Also, the button to drag a maximized window set by Ultrmon will not displa itself when a maximized window is open.

Could you send me a screenshot of your desktop with both a maximized and regular window (for example Internet Explorer) open to support@realtimesoft.com?
