Is there an easy way I can switch off the ultramon shortcut property tabs? I want to switch them off as I do not want users to open up programs with special settings. It isn't a big issue I just don't see the point for applications like notepad and so forth to have custom monitor settings. I would prefer to limit the programs that can have customized screen settings to limit helpdesk calls from pranks.

Whoopsie I figured it out, in options under profiles and shortcuts there is an option called enable shortcut extensions. Very cool.
A new question on the same topic is where is this stored and can I prevent access from users re-enabling it by setting a security permission on the file or registry entry. Like I said not a big issue, but I do like to limit how much asinine pranks get played on other people.

Hmm found it in the registry. Guess I will just make a script to remove editing permissions from the user key. Is there a generic key I can remove this from like the default that is used when creating key holders for new users?

I don't think you can set permissions via .reg files, but your script could get the version of the current UltraMon installation from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Realtime Soft\UltraMon, CurrentVersion value, this way the script can modify the setting under the correct version of the UltraMon user key.

I upgraded to 3.1.0 and had this same issue. So I came to this forum trying to find out how to turn off the new Ultramon tabs displayed in a properties dialog for the shortcuts on my WinXP desktop. I, too, could not seem to discover the option to disable those 2 new tabs.
This forum posting gave me the answer.
However, I'm leaving a comment here because I think Ultramon could be made better, so here is my comment.
Christian, sorry, it did not occur to me that the Ultramon "Options->Profiles and Shortcuts" was what I was looking for.
Perhaps you could add some more text on this tab, it needs to be more helpful, give better clues, because, in my mind, "enable shortcut extensions" did not register as "enable ultramon tabs in property dialog".
Since you have plenty of space on this tab, could you add some additional helpful text? That is, some kind of extra explanatory message defining "shortcut extensions" really means "new tabs in the properties dialog" could have saved me time.
Just a suggestion.

I'll consider that for a future release, thanks for the suggestion.
