I'm running Ultramon 3.1.0 on a Vista 32Bit SP2 System, connected to 3 Displays.
(built in Laptop Display, USB 2.0 GFX Gard, HDMI Connected TV).
If i'm running utorrent 2.2 and that main window is displayed accessing ultramon or running a video using vlc 1.1.8 leads to a crash of ultramon. (May be other applications are affected to.) Ultramon cant be started (because of crashing again and again) until utorrent has been quited or minimized.

Error Message is:
Version: 3.1.0
OS: 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 x32
Quellcodedatei: .\WndExt.cpp
Zeile: 1643
Rückgabewert:0
Letzter Fehler: 1006

Hope this helps to debug.

You'll get this error if UltraMon fails to get the name of the application's executable when adding window buttons to the application.

I'm not sure though why this would happen on your system, so far I haven't been able to reproduce the issue with uTorrent 2.2.1 on 32-bit Vista. Are you using any special settings for uTorrent, for example it runs as administrator?

As far as i know, there are no special settings. But i'm using the portable version from portable apps. The taskmanager shows two tasks when i start utorrent. One is named utorrentportable.exe and the other on utorrent.exe

Please try the following: when you get this the next time, open Task Manager, then select the Processes tab, right-click uTorrent.exe, select Open File Location from the menu, then check if the location is still accessible. Maybe the file is on a drive which is no longer present.

That is somehow strange. The usb-stick is still accessible from explorer (dirs/files can be viewed/used or executed) but selecting "Open file location/Dateipfad öffnen" from the Task Manager did not show anything. Simply nothing happens. The same applies to other apps of the portable-apps-suite running from the usb-stick. Application running from the system drive are showing the directory of the corresponding path.

Portable Apps Suite is Version 1.6.1

There's a patch for UltraMon.exe which fixes an issue with 16-bit applications, this should also fix your issue due to no error message getting shown if UltraMon fails to get the name and path of the executable.

You can download the patch here (this is for 32-bit Windows only). To install it, first create a backup of the original UltraMon.exe from C:\Program Files\UltraMon, then close UltraMon and copy UltraMon.exe from the ZIP file to C:\Program Files\UltraMon.

You won't be able to configure compatibility settings for uTorrent because UltraMon can't get the name of the executable, but everything else will work fine.
