Hi,
I have Win 7 and use four monitors (not all are always on). Say for example I use monitor #4 and then turn it off - if I open a browser window it may open on monitor #4. How can I force windows to only open on monitors that are switched ON or always on one particular monitor (#1 would be fine as it is always ON).
At the moment I am using a 'move to next monitor' hotkey in Ultramon and moving my cursor to the off monitor position and pressing the key - most of the time it will retrieve the window. But a permanent solution would be nice.
Thanks.

Make sure the monitor is also disabled via UltraMon or Display Properties, you can do this via UltraMon menu > Display Settings. Some applications will still open offscreen, for those you could use the MoveOffscreenAppsToPrimary script to move them back to the primary monitor.

Hi Christian,
Could you give me a brief description of the behavior of that script please. Does it only function when a new window first opens? For example, what if you partially dragged one off screen.

The script checks if there are any offscreen windows, and if yes, moves them to the primary monitor. It only moves windows which are completely offscreen.
You'll need to run the script each time an application has opened offscreen.
