Hi,

I've been using UltraMon effectively for a few months now mainly for mirroring. The setup is that I use a tablet PC (panel resolution 1280x800) attached to a projector (1024x768) for lecturing.

Regular display cloning doesn't work for this purpose, because either the internal display is stretched and the handwriting becomes distorted on the projector, or the internal display is centered with black bars on the side.

The latter wouldn't be a problem but on most tablet PCs the digitizer (pen) input isn't clipped but scaled, so the cursor is not under the pen, except when in the center of the display. When the pen is at the physical edge of the panel it is also at the edge of the displayed area, about 1" away from the actual physical pen position.

Now I want UltraMon to mirror a part of my screen, but for efficiency reasons I want that part to be exactly 1024x768. If you have ever tried setting that on a touchpad while holding the right button you know what I am complaining about. There should be a choice of setting up the mirror region to match the resolution of the external monitor, and then perhaps place that region freely on the larger (primary) monitor's desktop.

Luckily UltraMon remembers the last setting, so you have to go through the pain only once, if nothing else changes.

So here is my feature request, realtimesoft staff: Please introduce a fixed size mirroring option.

Perhaps you can make it more efficient then, too, although the current level of performance is good enough for my teaching purposes.

Otherwise UltraMon is really a great product.

Best

Gregor

Thanks for the suggestion, will be considered for a future release.

As a workaround, you could enter the coordinates directly in the registry, look for the Area value under the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtime Soft\UltraMon\<version>\Mirroring\Desktop.
