I've got a two monitor setup that has the monitors a significant distance apart.

Due to this moving the mouse from screen can be disorientating, and can happen a lot when doing something at the edge of the screen.

So, from some testing, it seems the most comfortable way to overcome this is by locking the mouse within each monitor and only move to the next monitor if some hotkey is pressed.

I tried to duplicate this effect through ultramon by using a macro program to combine the actions 'move mouse to next monitor' and 'lock mouse to active monitor'.

Problem with this solution is that the 'lock mouse to active monitor' doesn't work unless you clicked on a window first. I'm looking for a 'lock mouse to current monitor' action or something that will lock the mouse in whatever monitor it's at at that moment.

I also don't want to use a macro program if I can help it as I need to run another program on startup.

Are there any scripts out there that will duplicate this effect or any way to make ultramon perform something that has the same function as what I described above?

I'm running window 7 if you need to know that.

Thanks

There's no ideal way to do this as UltraMon can only lock the mouse to the primary monitor or the active window, but one thing you could do is change the monitor arrangement via UltraMon menu > Display Settings so that the second monitor is positioned below and to the right of the primary monitor, and only touches the primary monitor in the top-left corner.

This way you'll have to move the mouse through the bottom-right corner of the primary monitor to move it to the secondary monitor, which pretty much prevents you from moving the mouse accidentally to the other monitor. You can still use the Move Mouse hotkey to move the mouse between monitors.
