I run UltraMon_3.1.0_en_x32.msi on a new computer. Running Windows XP Pro V5.1, SP3. I had the same environment on another computer in the past. On that computer, when I moved an application to the secondary window, it created a taskbar and put the icon for the application(s) running in the secondary window onto that taskbar. But with this computer, no taskbar is vere created on the secondary monitor. Any idea why. I checked in the Ultramon options, but could not see anything relevant.

That looks okay, please send me your UltraMon settings to support@realtimesoft.com.
To save the settings to a file, run regedit.exe, then right-click the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtime Soft\UltraMon and select Export from the menu.

hi Christian, I emailed my registry settings yesterday. Do you have any update on how I can solve the issue with no taskbar on the secondary monitor? I checked the forum page, but there is no update, as at 3:15 AM, Thursday May 19, 2011 UTC.

hi Christian
This is what my Ultramon, About menu shows (below)
I also attached (in an email) a screen shot, generated by me simply hitting the Print Screen button. Notice that Excel and some other applications are open in the secondary screen (to the left), but there is no taskbar on that screen, the Excel and other taskbar buttons appear on the right screen. (The black bars above and below the left side of the screen shot are not on my screen because the left (secondary) screen is my laptop screen and the right (primary) screen is the external monitor I have linked up.)
Here's the Ultramon, About menu data:
*********************************** 2 monitors Current desktop: 2304x1024 (-1024,0 - 1280,1024)
Monitor 1 - Plug and Play Monitor (primary): Settings: 1280x1024, 32-bit color, 75 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1280,1024. Workspace: 0,0 - 1280,994 Video card: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M Device: \\.\DISPLAY1\Monitor0
Monitor 2 - Plug and Play Monitor: Settings: 1024x768, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: -1024,64 - 0,832. Workspace: -1024,64 - 0,832 Video card: NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M Device: \\.\DISPLAY2\Monitor3
***********************************
(I didn't see your email yesterday probably because I didn't check my personal email account, and I had sent the registry entries from there.)

No, that [restarting via the short cut in Start menu] did not make any difference. I'm sorry this is proving so difficult. Should I try to uninstall then reinstall, or else I am happy to use your test version of the Smart Taskar for diagnose. Please advise.

I uninstalled, rebooted then reinstalled. It's fixed! Sorry that took so much of your time. Strange.
