Subject: Multiple "Compatibility Fix...UltramonDesktop.exe" events (and system de-stabilization issues) to when changing profiles...
Hello!
I have been trying to troubleshoot this for months without success, can anyone please help me?
Basically, whenever I apply a new Profile (such as switching from two monitors to one, or turning off said two monitors and instead using a
large plasma TV) the entire OS freezes and un-freezes the task-bar disappears and re-appears, and....well, let's just say that all heck
breaks loose. If I am lucky, 30-60 seconds and many flashes later, the profile finally takes hold. However, if I am unlucky, my system freezes
and I have to do a hard-reset. In addition, after making a profile change the entire computer becomes unstable, often with video-card
"performance degradation" and the like events in the log.
I finally found a repeating pattern to this with some clues: Each time it happens I receive about a dozen or so repeats of the following event
in the Event Viewer:
General Tab:
Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-Application-Experience/Program-Telemetry Source: Application-Experience Event ID: 500

Often these events are accompanied with the following events, but these happen less often. (I should note that I am only reporting a few of these - all told as many as 50 events are generated for each profile change! If relevant, I can followup with more events...)
Event 9007 Desktop Windows Manager: "The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because WDDM is not in use"
Event 4107 Display: "A caller specified the SDC_FORCE_MODE_ENUMERATION flag in a call to the SetDisplayConfig() API"
Event 130, Diagnosis-DPS "Diagnostic module {7a54f16f-a73a-4258-ba46-a1e998a6aa74} (%WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\DISPCI.DLL) finished resolving scenario

000000000000}."
And so on....
Do you have any idea at all on what this is and what I can do about it? Does "DisableUserCallbackException" mean anything to you?
This has been so frustrating that I am considering a new video-card; however, since the problem seems to be with compatibility with Ultramon, I do not want to waste the $ on something that will not solve the problem.
I apologize for the long-convoluted post. It is just that kind of issue! I just hope that the solution is something simple and dumb, such as setting a compatibility mode, updating a specific component, etc...
Oh, I put my [relevant] system info in the Signature box...
Thank you very much in advance!

Do you have the same issue if you only change the resolution of a monitor via UltraMon menu > Display Settings, or does this only happen if you disable/enable monitors (either via Display Settings or a display profile)?
