Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Feature Request: Ignore monitor, but still allow smart task bar

I've got a feature request, unless it's already available and I just don't know how? I'm using 3 monitors, but my 3rd monitor (far right) is primarily used for email only. Occasionally I will drag a window over there, but generally I use the other two monitors for everything else and keep my email open on the 3rd for easy access. What I'd like to do is disable the 1,2,3 option when I click on the 'Move Window' button so that it only jumps between the two 'main' monitors. I know I could use the 'ignored monitors' feature to remove ALL UltraMon options from the 3rd monitor, but I would still like to have the 'smart taskbar' on it.

Please advise if this is already possible, and if not please try to add it in a future release. Thanks for everything!

Thanks for the suggestion, will be considered for a future release.

What you could do is use a hotkey to move windows instead, there are hotkeys to move the active window to the next or previous monitor.

It would also be possible to create a custom script which moves the active window between two specific monitors only, if you're interested in this let me know.

I will try to get used to using the hot keys, but I'm currently in the habit of using the 'move window' buttons and I've been using UltraMon for quite some time, so it's going to be a hard habit to break.

I've not used any custom scripts before - how exactly would that work? Would there be any way to attach those custom scripts to the existing 'move window' button or would there be a different method of triggering it?

Either way, thanks for listening to my suggestion and considering it for future releases...

The script would get executed via hotkey, you would have a single hotkey which moves the active window to the other monitor.

If you're using mainly maximized windows, you can also drag windows to the other monitor by dragging the window's title bar. That's what I usually do on my 3-monitor system, as it's quicker than using the window button.

I guess I'm just a creature of habit...I've tried getting used to the hot keys, but this is something I'm just used to doing with the mouse. And I do drag the window sometimes, but again as a creature of habit I'm used to just clicking the button.

If this could be added in a future release, that would be awesome! If not, I'll get used to it...

Either way, thanks for everything!

I would LOVE this feature as well. I only want to swap between 1 and 2 but would love to have the smart task bar on 3. Perfect setup!
