After upgrading, Ultramon gets confused about display numbers.

I upgraded to Ultramon 3.1.0
I also upgraded my Nvidia driver to 275.33

I start with a single screen display and U;tramon reports the following:

2 monitors, 1 disabled
Current desktop: 2048x1152 (0,0 - 2048,1152)

Monitor 1 - SyncMaster 2343BW/2343BWX(Digital) (primary):
Settings: 2048x1152, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate
Coordinates: 0,0 - 2048,1152. Workspace: 0,28 - 2048,1152
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
Device: \\.\DISPLAY1\Monitor0

Monitor 2 - Generic PnP Monitor (disabled):
Settings: 1360x768, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate
Coordinates: 0,0 - 1360,768
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
Device: \\.\DISPLAY2\Monitor0
------------------

Then I open ultramon + display settings...
I enable my second monitor and set it as primary, then disable the first monitor and then click Apply

The second monitor does nothing.
The first monitor changes resolution to 1360x768.
Ultramon reports this:
2 monitors, 1 disabled
Current desktop: 1360x768 (0,0 - 1360,768)

Monitor 1 - Generic PnP Monitor (disabled):
Settings: 2048x1152, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate
Coordinates: 0,0 - 2048,1152
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
Device: \\.\DISPLAY1\Monitor0

Monitor 2 - SyncMaster 2343BW/2343BWX(Digital) (primary):
Settings: 1360x768, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate
Coordinates: 0,0 - 1360,768. Workspace: 0,28 - 1360,768
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
Device: \\.\DISPLAY2\Monitor0

This seems similar to other problems reported here. Possibly it's related to the new Nvidia driver.

Other things that may or may not be relevant:
1) The second monitor is an LG LCD TV set with max resolution of 1080P. Ultramon was working flawlessly before the upgrade, except that sometimes it got cofused when waking from sleep. Re-applying profiles always fixed any problem.

2) The motheboard also has an Nvidia on-board graphics which is disabled.

What happens if you only enable the second monitor first, without setting it as primary and disabling the SyncMaster? Does this work correctly, meaning both monitors are enabled and are using the correct settings?

The switch works correctly if I click the apply button on each step:

Enable monitor 2
apply
set monitor 2 as primary
apply
disable monitor 1
apply

Also, the switch works fine when I use the Windows (Vista) display control and do all 3 steps at once.

The good news is that after wacking at it for a while, I have come up with a configuration that works reliably, and my profile switching works as before the upgrade. It even seems to be waking from sleep correctly.

The final configuration is with Monitor2==Syncmaster

I suspect that the problem is with the way that the Nvidia driver and/or Vista attempts to map monitors to DVI ports. Possibly Ultramon is getting different answers depending on how and when it queries. Windows' monitor management has sucked from the beginning - which is why I'm willing to buy Ultramon.

Glad to hear that configuration is working fine.

Difficult to say if this is an issue with the display driver or UltraMon, could be both. If you get this again let me know.
