Forums -> UltraMon™ -> UM 3.1.0 crashes after Cubic Explorer restarts for update

Since I am not sure if the problem is in CubicExplorer or Ultramon, I have reported it in CE forums (http://www.cubicreality.com/forum/index.php/topic,1496.0.html) as well as here.

When the CE update is installed, and CE restarts, UltraMon crashes, and makes all the other programs to start crashing on chain.

Not sure if it is a bug in CE or UM, but it is only ocurring in this combination, even with latest UM 3.1.0 and CE 0.95.1.1430.

Which version of Windows are you using? I tested with CubicExplorer 0.95.1.1430 and UltraMon 3.1.0 on 64-bit Windows 7, but so far noticed no problems.

Thank you for answering. THe problem happens on Windows 7 x64, both Home, and Ultimate.

Keep in mind that the problem only happens when CE gets updates from internet, and restarts itself. Once restarting, UM crashes.

The easy way to reproduce it, is to download the latest stable CE version, and the let the system update it with the latest snapshot.

Let me know if further problems trying to reproduce it.

Regards.

The update process also didn't cause a crash for me, I had installed 0.95.0.1424 from the website, then updated to 0.95.1.1430 via CubicExplorer's update feature.

I tested with the Aero theme/visual style, are you using Basic or Classic?

It is strange it is not happening on your setup. As you, I am using AERO.

Maybe the problem could be on the GPU drivers, which were in my two test setups from ATI.

Not sure what might cause this, for further troubleshooting you could save a crash dump when you get this the next time. To do this, don't close the error message, then open Task Manager, select the Processes tab, right-click UltraMon.exe and select Create Dump File from the menu.

If the main taskbar, explorer.exe, has crashed as well, press CTRL+ALT+DEL to open Task Manager.

Hi Christian,

Sorry for the delay answering, but I have needed to wait until a new CubicExplorer version has been release to make the update crash again.

Find required dump file available at http://guti.bitacoras.com/_temp/UltraMonTaskbar.zip

Please, let me know if further details are needed.

I think you got the wrong process, UltraMonTaskbar.exe instead of UltraMon.exe. According to the crash dump for UltraMonTaskbar.exe, everything was working normally in the taskbar.
