question: how to stop win7 from changing monitor position>>>>have a display profile shortcut that sets the system to m3 m1 m2, m1 and 2 on same card as detailed above.

when I kill a program win 7 changes this to m1 m2 m3......this really kills me because its putting the secondary card first[@#$%@#@$$@#!!!]. Is there another fix I can use with ultramon or it just another win7 issue?

trying to correct this with win 7 without ultramon is just crazy. the profile fix I use is sufficient but...........

thanks

Not sure what might cause this, you get this every time you terminate an application via Task Manager, for example also if you terminate Internet Explorer?

thanks for your reply.

when I kill a program with process explorer, which is what I normally use. this problem happens.

some way of locking monitor position would be awesome, using a profile seems to be the only way to fix this after the fact and I want to stop this b4 it happens

it really kills me when win 7 puts the x1650 video card ahead of the hd 4850[ both ati but at least 4 generations apart!!!]

getting hd 6870 in 2 days hoping that will fix it as well

note, dont use IE at all because of security holes
this problem does not happen while streaming video.

only when some game locks up and then I use process explorer to kill it windows reverts to what it thinks is native set up...........this is how i started using the profile fix because windows will ALSO change all monitors to what it "sez" is a recommended resolutions
a real pain when u use CRT and LCD at same time

ultramon is very handy, hope you know a way to lock monitor position

UltraMon can't prevent Windows from changing the display configuration, currently I also don't see another fix than applying the display profile manually.
