I am using the add-on wallpaper screensaver program on a dual-monitor system, and it is working well - EXCEPT that it includes the blank-screen no wallpaper option. How do I avoid that?

To fix this, go to Control Panel > Personalization > Screen Saver (Control Panel > Display if you're on XP), then open settings for the UltraMon Wallpaper screen saver and uncheck the wallpapers you don't want to get used for the screen saver.

That does not seem to be the solution, as the list does not include the built-in nul option in the wallpaper list in Ultramon (the one with the "Don't Enter" traffic sign. That is the one that gives the blank screen for an hour that I am trying to eliminate.

The screen saver won't use the 'no wallpaper' option, my guess would be that one of your wallpaper profiles uses pictures which were moved, this would result in a blank wallpaper.
I would recommend checking all your wallpaper profiles via UltraMon menu > Wallpaper to make sure the pictures are still displayed correctly.

You are of course absolutely correct. I went to \Users\Barrie\AppData\Roaming\RealtimeSoft\Ultramon|3.1.0\Wallpaper and saw the list which did not include any blank. That confirmed in my mind that one of the wallpapers must be "farkled" and, sure enough, it was. I have deleted it and hope that all is well now. Thank you for your help

Now I am trying to make ChangeWallpaperAuto2.vbs work. I downloaded it and, when I start it opens a text file in MS word, where I have altered the default 60min change to 15 minutes. When I close that and click on ChangeWallpaperAuto2 again, the whole routine with MS Word starts all over again. I assumed I had done something incorrectly and so deleted and redownloaded etc. but I am caught in this loop. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like your system is configured to open script files in the editor by default, instead of executing them. Try the following: right-click the script, then select Open instead of Edit from the menu.

I have the file ChangeWallpaperAuto2.vbs in my Download folder. When I right-click on it and select Open it immediately goes to the Editor - Word Pad.

I may have found a solution. If I open the file Properties, under 'Opens with' (Win 7) there are two options: MS Windows Based Script Host or WordPad. I changed it (back?) to the first. I had previously used WP to change the script to a 15 min interval. We shall see what happens.

Just to confirm - the change in the Open with response in the Properties windows did the trick and I now have the ChangeWallpaperAuto2.vbs script functioning perfectly. That is the location to make the change necessary to open the file in an editor of your choice, and it is the location to chane back to the Windows routine. I am sorry to have bothered everyone, but hope this story will help someone downstream.
