Greetings. I was wondering, is there a way, or a plan to add the feature in the future, for Ultramon to preserve icon positions in multiple monitor setups? Right now, if one has a multi-monitor setup and then changes the number of connected monitors, Windows will just bunch the icons all together and Ultramon will only keep positions for the ones that were already in the monitor(s) that remain active.
Switching to Eyefinity mode appears to have the same effect, except there *would* be room enough to keep everything in place, only essentially Ultramon clearly sees only one desktop available and arranges things accordingly, essentially messing everything up.
So I was wondering if there is actually a way to get it to remember two or more different sets of positions depending of the monitors it sees connected to the computer (which, in the case of Eyefinity, means the sets would be visually identical although of course the positions would be relative to different coordinates).
Best regards, Immano.

This isn't supported directly, what you could do is export saved positions from the registry, then use a batch file to restore a specific icon layout.
Let me know if you're interested in this.

I remember something like this, I used to do it inbetween reinstalls of the OS to preserve the icon layout (I had the desktop in a folder other than the default back then). Might be worth a try, sure.

To export a saved icon layout, run regedit.exe, then right-click the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtime Soft\UltraMon Components\Saved Positions\Icons and select Export from the menu.
To load a specific layout, create a batch file and add the following commands:start "" /wait /b "%WINDIR%\regedit.exe" /s "c:\temp\icons.reg"
"%ProgramFiles%\UltraMon\UltraMon.exe" /rReplace c:\temp\icons.reg with the location of your saved icon layout.
