I am using 2 monitors and only have desktop icons on the primary one. Whenever I start UltraMon with the Smart Taskbar (for the secondary), all of the primary monitor's icons are "jumping up". They are raised exactly by the height of the Smart Taskbar from the secondary screen, so around 30pixels. Is there a way to disable that? At least for the primary monitor?

I've seen that as well occasionally, but never found out why exactly this happens sometimes. It's related to the taskbar reserving screen area for itself when the Always on Top option is enabled.
Can you move the icons back to the original position when this happens? If yes, it might be possible to work around this by having UltraMon restore icon positions after the additional taskbar has been created.

Unfortunately, I cannot move the icons back to their original position. The whole "auto-align"-grid is moving up, so there is no chance to move them down again.
Maybe with grid disabeled, but I want them to be aligned.
I am using Windows 7 64bit.

I have now done some testing with the 'Align icons to grid' option selected, you get this because the two monitors aren't aligned at the bottom (looks like an issue with Windows).
To fix this, move the secondary monitor a bit lower via UltraMon menu > Display Settings so that it is aligned at the bottom with the primary monitor. This way the icons won't get moved up when the UltraMon taskbar gets created.

This seems to be a workaround indeed, but causes another problem:
When I move the mouse to the very top/bottom and move left to the secondary screen, it gets stuck because the desktop sizes (?) are different then. It's like an invisible wall.

That is correct, but I don't see another workaround for this except disabling grid aligning. This can't be fixed in UltraMon.
