For several weeks I have been fighting the SmartTaskbar. Whenever I try to open the context menu for the smart taskbar, the UltraMonTaskbar.exe process crashes. I have a minidump and appcompat files if it would be helpful. I can easily restart UltraMon or run Smart Taskbar | Enable from the UltraMon systray icon to get the bar back, but I cannot adjust the toolbar settings.
I run Windows 7 x64.
Let me know what information you need.

If you haven't done this already please install the new 3.2.2 release. If you still have the issue with 3.2.2, a crash dump would be helpful, let me know once you have it and I will then send you a link to upload it to our server.

Hmmm... I did reproduce it on 3.2.2, but then I cannot reproduce it any longer. I did restart the computer recently, but I also rebooted after installing 3.2.2. Well, my problem is resolved for now I guess.
Would you still like the mdmp? I have it ready.

I'll take a look at it, you can upload the crash dump here (needs to be a .zip file).

Thanks for the crash dump. What happens is that an error occurs when trying to display the context menu, when UltraMon tries to report the error via its standard 'fatal error' dialog this fails for some reason and the process just crashes.
I don't know why the error dialog can't be displayed, but if you get the issue again we can do further troubleshooting to determine why the underlying error occurs.

Well, I have been able to duplicate this problem reliably now for about two weeks. I am running 3.2.2. Let me know if you still want to debug this.

Oh, I found a workaround. Apparently if I launch the UltraMon.exe process with elevated privileges I don't have this problem. I do run with UAC, so maybe that's whats causing the underlying error.

You shouldn't have to run UltraMon with elevated privileges, please contact me at support@realtimesoft.com if you want to troubleshoot this further.
