Ive got an (ATI 3DRage Pro AGP 8mb) as my primary display card. I added an (S3 Trio 64 PCI 4mb) as a secondary card. Windows recognises both cards and displays this message on the second monitor

"If you can read this message, windows has successfully intialised this display adapter. To use this adapter as part of your windows desktop, open the display option in the control panel and adjust the settings on the settings tab"

Cool!, But wait for it, Now I try this and guess what. I can see both monitors in the nice inteface they made, I can click on the second display and it asks me whether or not I want to enable the second monitor, I answer yes the monitor now becomes bold and the "extend my desktop to this monitor option gets ticked". I click apply and WALA ITS ALL GONE!!.

The secondary monitor still displays the same message "If you can read this message, windows has bla bla bla....

And the secondary display is back to being disabled. I enabled the secondary monitor several times but it just goes back to being diabled again.

I have now tried 4 other S3 Video cards as secondary cards but no luck.

Please help!!!!

Any help appreciated

I've got exactly the same problem
(but with Matrox G400 AGP and Trident 9440 PCI)

Could you ever solve that problem?

Check whether you have the memory (CFF000-CFFFFFF?) reserved for the video card and if that doesn't work, try installing a new Windows system and use the latest drivers, thats the only way I know to solve this...

remove devicehigh=c:\windows\emm386.exe in config.sys

There are also some problems with matrox video-cards in multi-monitor config -> read the articles on this forum
