I am considering building a new machine but am wondering if what I want to do is possible.
I want to build a dedicated gaming machine (1 video card only) which outputs at 1080p60 to my main, large display but also outputs a mirrored 720p60 in order for my capture card to be able to work with it (Blackmagic Intensity). My capture card doesn't accept 1080p60 at all and 1080i30 is icky.
Is there a specific generation NVIDIA or ATI card I need? My experience with built-in NVIDIA driver cloning in win7 dictates that the primary display will be perfect but the mirrored will experience tearing (similar to lack of v-sync). Of course, doing it that way means same resolution cloning only. Is there any way to avoid this problem?

You could use UltraMon for this, but performance probably won't be good enough. I'm not aware of a hardware solution which supports different resolutions.
