I am a novice reading up on dual displaying and am wondering why in reading this forum I see alot of primary and secondary video cards......I thought I was looking into one video card with two display outputs...can you explain just a little please.....

You can use two video cards (AGP + PCI) or a single dualhead card. Both solutions have their advantages and disadvantages. See the guide for more information.
BTW, the performance advantage mentioned no longer exists with the latest generation of dualhead cards (GeForce4 and RADEON 8500).
