I currently have a Geforce2mx dualhead, which has really bad 2D output in Windows at 1600x1200 85hz. I have a nice 21" monitor, and the poor output shows. I even ripped off the low-pass filter on the vga output of the card to improve things but this just made the display brighter!
I was thinking of getting a Geforce4mx dualhead, but read that they dont offer much of an improvement over the Geforce 2 with regards to 2D picture quality.
So whats my alternative? i play games occasionally, so dont really want to get anything slower than the GF2mx, but also want to keep it below £100.
another option would be to add a PCI card, any suggestions? What cards can offer 1600x1200 above 85hz refresh?
