Does anybody know how to make an Excel spreadsheet stretch to a secondary monitor so that the monitors show adjacent parts of the same sheet?

UltraMon can do this, see Managing windows, maximize to desktop.

Do you want to do something fancy or just stretch it across 2 monitors?
I can get it across 2 monitors by going to the upper right corner and clicking on the maximize/restore function. Once it's in smaller window you can move all four edges where ever you want including stretching across.
When you close Excel then reopen, it should still be stretched. To shrink it down to the primary monitor again, at any time just click maximize in upper right corner. Sorta opposite what you expect but it works w/ my machine.
