I switch from 2-monitor mode to the single Denon receiver daily.
note: I have a Denon receiver set as the default. When it is not connected, the system default falls back to the onboard hardware. This allows setting video software to system default without having to set to a specific output device. Works great.
After switching back from HDTV to 2-mon's, icons move to mon1 (normally on mon2). Ultramon's restore does not work.
I turn off "view/auto arrange icons" and pull an icon to mon2. The icon is placed on mon1 and is not visible.Just a couple of letters from the icon description (like the icon is under the bezel of mon1). I have to enable auto arrange to see icons again on mon1.
If I restart computer, and restore icons, they stay on mon1. Apparently the position is not locked from a "save positions" on ultramon. If I reload registry file containing desired positions, they correctly move to mon2.
mon1 res is 1920x1200 mon2 res is 1600x1200 denon res is 1920x1200 AMD radeon HD 6800 series (just drivers installed) no other monitor software installed Windows 7 (aero theme)

Do you only save icon positions manually, or is the option 'preserve position of desktop icons' under UltraMon Options > General enabled?

Thanks for the checkbox info. I did not have it unchecked.

That way you should no longer have to reload saved icon positions, but it won't fix the issue with icon positioning after switching back to the extended desktop.
I'm not sure though what might cause this, but if you also can't move icons to the other monitor manually the issue is most likely not related to UltraMon.
