well it's not working... it says that both video cards are working properly in the device manager but when i go into the display properies there is no option for the second monitor....
any ideas?

Which voodoo card is it?
The earlier voodoo cards were 3d only so you could not use it as a display.
Otherwise under display-properties-settings there should be two monitors shown with a "1" and "2" within them and if you click on the two it should read below - extend my desktop onto this monitor.
