I have a Windows XP machine with a Radeon VE card with dual outputs. Are there any know issues (or recomendations) for adding anther video card for a third monitor? Is UltrMon required or will Windows be able to understand?

Thanks,

Bob

Windows should handle that just fine, as long as the second card works in a multi-monitor setup. No extra software is needed.

Because I have two DVI monitors, my only PCI DVI solutions are dual-head cards. That leaves me with a third analog port to play with. With both the MX400 and the G450 dual head cards, Windows XP has had no problems giving me 3 displays to work with. Tried it out and it works just fine.

So, XP definitely supports the configuration. According to the Inno3d web site, you can only use 3 displays with two dual head MX400 cards (can't use all 4). I don't know if the same restrictions apply to other manufacturers or if it's just a driver limitation.
