Anybody know if it's possible to run dual EXTERNAL monitors on a laptop (probably Dell Inspiron 8200)? I want the laptop to take with me, but when I'm working I want to slide it in a dock and have two full size monitors, external keyboard & mouse, etc...

Basically, just like my current dual-monitor desktop with the option to pull out the laptop and take it with me.

I've been researching this exact situation for some time now from the standpoint of creating a system form the start. Not adding it to a system.

The basic answer is taht untill laptop manufacturers (who are putting dual monitor chipsets into their machines) start putting 2 VGA ports on the back of the laptop and/or port replicators you are stuck with little option.

1. Get a docking station with PCI slots and put in additional video cards.
2. Get a PCMCIA Video Card (SLOW!)
3. Get a third party expansion/port replicator with built in VGA (SLOW) or PCI slots.

If you find something better...please let me know.
